About Us

The Commissioner for Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies is the Head of the Department in the State bestowed with the powers and functions as stated in the Cooperative Acts. He also monitors the functioning of the Apex Level Cooperative Institutions in the state.At the District level,Special Cadre Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies functions as District Cooperative Officers/ Registrar who in consultation, As per G.O.Rt.No.124 dated 06-03-2017. The Government of Telangana has created a separate Cooperative Election Authority for conducting of elections to all the Cooperative Societies including the Societies which are functioning under control and supervision of Functional Registrars. Elections have to be conducted to a Society for every Five (5) years as laid down in Section 31 (2) (a) of Telangana Cooperative Societies Act 1964.
